The latest edition of the annual Punjabi Folk Dance Camp commenced enthusiastically in the premises of Lyallpur Khalsa College. The camp initiated by College Governing Council and Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra, is scheduled to continue till 7th July 2019 with the aim of connecting the youth to the rich cultural heritage of Punjab and subsequently keeping their away from prevalent ailments of the present scenario. The camp has seen an overwhelming registration of over 450 participants receiving free of cost coaching of folk dances as per the program. Eminent folk dance artist and expert Ustad Rajbir Singh delivered the basics of folk dance and he was joined by Nirmal Kumar Vijay Ustad to provide drum beats in the opening presentations for the participants. Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra congratulated the entire team of staff members associated while Professors in charge of this camp, Prof. Palwinder Singh Bolina (Bhangra), Prof. Harbinder Kaur (Giddha) and Prof. Harjinder Singh Sekhon (Luddi) thanked everyone for their efforts concerning this event. Also present on this occasion were, Prof. Gagandeep Singh, Dr. Ajit Pal Singh, Prof. Satpal Singh, Prof. Sukhdev Singh, Prof. Sonu Gupta, Dr. Dinkar Sharma, Prof. Jaspreet Kaur Khaira, Prof. Jaspreet Kaur Saini, Prof. Gurjinder Kaur, Prof. Pooja Sonik, Prof. Gulzar Singh, Prof. Simran Kaur, Ms. Monia, Ms. Tavneet Kaur along with volunteers and old students of the college namely Lambard, Gopi, Manga and Happy sharing their decade long experiences with the learners.
