A special guest lecture dedicated to the 550th Gurpurab Celebration of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, was organized by the Centre for Punjabi Language Development, Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar. This guest lecture was delivered by renowned Punjabi Linguist Dr. Baldev Singh Cheema, Professor, Punjabi Department, Punjabi University, Patiala. College Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra welcomed Dr. Cheema to the college and informed the audience about his contribution to Punjabi linguistics. On this occasion, Dr. Baldev Singh Cheema delivered an eloquent lecture based on the linguistic and aesthetical proficiency of Guru Nanak Dev ji’s recitation of ‘Japuji Sahib’. The program also witnessed a session of discussions indulging Dr. Sukhdev Singh Nagra, Coordinator Centre for Punjabi Language Development, Prof. Kuldip Kaur Dosanjh, Dr. Surinderpal Mand, Dr. Harjinder Singh Sekhon, Prof. Kuldip Sodhi and Prof. Arinder Singh along with curious student audience. To conclude the proceedings, Head of the Punjabi department, Dr. Gopal Singh Buttar thanked Dr. Cheema for his presence.
