Computers Science & IT


The Department of Computer Science & IT was set up under the aegis of Lyallpur Khalsa College,Jalandhar – a premier institution of Northern India, imparting quality education to more than 6000 students including more than 2600 girls. The department is funded by DBT under Star College Scheme.

The Department possesses one of the most technologically advanced education facilities and has been top rated amongst the departments of the affiliated colleges of Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar.
The mission of the department is to provide world class Computer Science & Information Technology education coupled with allied activities to further enhance intellectual growth. The Department currently offers the following courses:

Teaching at the Department Campus incorporates a cohesive, contextual and maturing environment for learning. The emphasis is on self motivated learning by using information, experience and practices. The pedagogy aims at using the inputs from core functional areas to inter disciplinary issue and problem solving. Students undertake classroom and workshop assignments, conduct field observations, make presentations, participate in Group Discussion, Seminars and are encouraged to develop industry linkages. Teaching at the institute takes place in a vibrant and stimulating environment with wealth of information and new ideas brought in by the faculty and other experts. The aim is to closely monitor student's evolution as competent professionals and provide critical feedback to students on their performance and development.
