Seminar on Punjabi Poet organized by Dept of Punjabi at LKC

Under the supervision of College Principal Dr . Gurpinder Singh Samra, a special seminar in the memory of prominent Punjabi poet Late Afzal Ahsaan Randhawa was organized by the Post Graduate Department of Punjabi, Lyallpur Khalsa College as a tribute to the departed soul. Dr. Sukhdev Singh Khahra Former Head, Department of Punjabi, Guru Nanak Dev University graced the seminar as the chief speaker and he was duly given a flowery welcome to the institution by College Registrar Prof. Jasreen Kaur and Dr. Gopal Singh Buttar, Head, PG Department of Punjabi. Prof. Nirmaljit Kaur, Assistant Professor, PG Department of Punjabi presented her paper depicting the contribution made by Afzal Ahsaan Randhawa to the cause of Punjabi Literature over the years gone by. In the research paper it was mentioned that during his life span of 80 years, Afzal Ahsaan Randhawa contributed to the legal system and political set up as well as eloquently expressing the pain of partition of 1947 that hugely impacted the Punjabi Culture, Literature and most importantly the Punjabi lifestyle. Chief Speaker for the seminar Dr. Sukhdev Singh Khahra lauded the open and sincere expression that marked all the literary works of Afzal Ahsaan Randhawa which is a rarity among poets and writers of modern age. The chief speaker was duly honored by College Registrar Prof. Jasreen Kaur and Head, PG Department of Punjabi, Dr. Gopal Singh Buttar. To conclude the program, vote of thanks was delivered by Head of the Department Dr. Gopal Singh Buttar. Stage for the seminar was managed by Dr. Harjinder Singh Sekhon. The seminar was also witnessed by the entire faculty of the Department of Punjabi and students of the department.
