A three day workshop on Creative Writing was initiated by the PG Department of Punjabi, Lyallpur Khalsa College under the able guidance of Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra. On the opening day of the workshop, eminent Gazal critic Dr. Jagvinder Singh Jodha graced the occasion as chief speaker and he was duly given a flowery welcome by Dr. Gopal Singh Buttar Head, PG Department of Punjabi and Dr. Surinder Mand. Dr. Gopal Singh Buttar informed the audience about the history of the department and then also explained the due reasons behind the organizing of the workshop. Workshop Coordinator Dr. Surinder Mand informed that the workshop will span over three days including 10th, 11th and 12th October and each session with two days will comprise of a technical and practical session which aims at enhancing the writing skills of students. Chief speaker Jagvinder Singh Jodha enlightened the students about the process of creative writing and also recounted the benefits of Literary reading which add to an all round personality of a student. College Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra appreciated the efforts of the PG Department of Punjabi regarding the creative writing efforts in the age of social media and technology. Dr. Sukhbir Singh delivered the vote of thanks on this occasion which was witnessed by various faculty members and students of the college. The stage on the opening day was managed by Dr. Pardeep.
