Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra, Principal Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar and President of the College Principals Association appealed to the Punjab Government to release the impending grant of 4 years for the government aided colleges of the region. As per the words of Dr. Samra, such impending grants have financially demoralized the employees along with creating a financial crisis for many colleges of the region. Dr. GS Samra also took up the impending issue of post matric scholarship which has created an even more of a financial burden on the colleges already running on fiscal periphery. Principal Dr. Samra also recalled the impending application of the notification released by the government of Punjab in the year 2015 wherein a total of 1925 assistant professors including 484 assistant professors were employed in the first stage and he called for their services to be converted into regular scales after the completion of their 3 year probation period. Dr. Samra also appealed to the government to take care of the regular and permanent staff in the colleges so that they can duly contribute to the creation of a progressive State of Punjab.
