As a part of the year long series of events dedicated to the 550th Gurpurab Celebration of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, a very special guest lecture was organized by the Centre for Punjabi Culture and Folklore Studies, Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar. This guest lecture was delivered by renowned scholar Dr. Harpal Singh Pannu, Professor, Central  University, Bathinda. College Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra welcomed him to the college and reiterated the year-long series of various events and programs planned by the college dedicated to the historic 550th Gurupurab of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji. On this occasion, Dr. Gurmeet Singh delivered an eloquent lecture based on the unmatched facets of Guru Nanak Dev ji and their multi-dimensional importance to humanity. The lecture also constituted of deliberations on deeper meanings of Guru Nanak Dev ji’s life span coinciding with a much needed enlightenment of society at the time. Head of the Punjabi department, Dr. Gopal Singh Buttar put forth the formal vote of thanks on this occasion whilst Dr. Harjinder Singh Sekhon, Coordinator, Centre for Punjabi Culture and Folklore Studies vowed to continue such enlightening programs in the coming months as well. Renowned philanthropist and social reformer Sh. Sukhi Bath from Surrey (Canada) also graced  this occasion. Renowned philanthropist and social reformer Sh.
