The colorful and cheerful seasonal occasion of Basant Panchami was duly celebrated by Lyallpur Khalsa College. Led by College Principal Dr Gurpinder Singh Samra, the occasion saw the tradition of kite flying and presentation of folk songs and folk arts. Principal Dr Samra urged the community to come together for celebration such as these which convey a message of unity and harmony amongst the masses. Dr Samra also highlighted the dangers posed by the China thread used illegally for kite flying and appealed for a ban on its use as this occasion marks a change of season signifying freshness in life. The occasion was also witnessed by Prof Jasreen Kaur, Dean Academic Affairs, Dr Suman Chopra, Dr Tarsem Singh, Prof Sukhdev Singh, Prof Ahuja Sandeep, Dr Surinderpal Mand, Prof. Palwinder Singh, Prof. Amritpal Singh, Prof Karanbir Singh, Prof Amandeep Kaur, Prof Gulzar Singh along with students of the college.
