A college level ‘Talent Hunt Competition’ was organized at Lyallpur Khalsa College to bring forth the hidden talents of students in light of the various events to be held in the upcoming Youth Festival of Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. These competitions cum auditions were met with a tremendous response from the students wherein more than 300 students showcased their talent in the genres of Music, Theatre, Fine Arts and Literature whilst events such as Folk music, Gidha, Bhangra, Stage Play, Poetry, Landscaping, Sketching, Collage, Clay Modelling, Installation, Flower Arrangement saw an overwhelming attraction in terms of participation. Addressing the students, College Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra stressed the need to realize the hidden talents of the youth apart from their academic exploits. He urged the students to actively participate in events such as Youth Festivals as they help in shaping their personalities in the long term. Dr. Samra also recalled that such efforts in the past have led to the college winning the Overall Youth Festival trophy for three times and two runners up spots along the way. Also present on this occasion were, Prof. Jasreen Kaur HOD English, Dr. Gopal Singh Buttar HOD Punjabi, Prof. Navdeep Kaur HOD Economics, Prof. Sukhdev Singh HOD Music, Dr. Harjinder Singh Sekhon, Dr. Palwinder Singh, Dr. Ajitpal Singh, Prof. Gulzar Singh, Prof. Harbinder Kaur and Ms. Monia along with other members of the college staff. Stage was managed by Dr. Surinderpal Mand.
