As a part of World Environment Day celebrations,  a special awareness program was organized by Indian Oil Corporation Jalandhar Division  in which the students of Journalism & Mass Communication first year of Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar presented Nukkad Natak. Students of BAJMC-2nd Sem Vikrant, Humanshu, Shivani, Shaliana, Sahibjit, Karan Dhaliwal, Karan Kumar and Dusahil used the play to highlight the importance of preserving the environment, the present situation and what the future scenario will be like in case we did not take urgent steps to preserve environment. Tree plantation was done and pledge was taken to save water and reusable waste. Saplings were distributed among customers. The event was organized at company owned and company operated retail outlet at Pachranga. Organisers of the environment and senior officials from Indian Oil Corporation Atul Gupta DGM (RS) , Roopendra Jaswal and Rakesh Tiku honoured the students. Prof. Sanjeev Anand and Prof. Sonu Gupta from PG Dept of CS & IT were also present on the occasion. Speaking on occasion Prof. Anand motivated the audience to preserve the environment and plant trees. College Principal Dr. GS. Samra congratulated the students on taking up this pertinent issue and talking about it.
