‘World Physiotherapy Day’ was celebrated at Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar under the guidance of College Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra along with Dr. Raju Sharma, Head of Department Physiotherapy. As per the proceedings of this program, a one-day free check up camp was conducted by the staff and students of the department on issues concerning joint problems. Staff of the department rendered their expertise for the camp whilst students in a large number also volunteered their services throughout the day. College Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra addressed the occasion by appreciating the role played by such functions in spreading awareness regarding physiotherapy and its enormous benefits to mankind. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Raju Sharma, Head of the Physiotherapy Department highlighted the change in modern lifestyle as the major reason behind various emerging problems concerning neck, disc, knees and other joints and ligaments of human body whilst also informing that Physiotherapy plays a major role in curing such ailments without the use of traditional medication. ‘Panecia’- the student body of Bachelors in Physiotherapy students highlighted the importance of the science named physiotherapy through awareness programs in nearby areas and by virtue of this camp as well. The entire faculty of the Department of Physiotherapy namely Dr. Jaswant Kaur, Prof. Priyank Sharda, Prof. Richa Sharma, Prof. Komaldeep and Prof. Rajveer Kaur, Prof. Sonia Rani and Ms. Vineet Kaur contributed immensely in the successful presentation of the program.
