Dr. Charanjit Singh has done his M.A. in English from Doaba College Jalandhar, affliated with Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar (Punjab). He has done his M.Phil on the topic “Primitivism in John Steinbeck’s Fiction – A Select Study” from Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla and his Ph.D in Linguistics on the topic “Grammaticalisation of Interpersonal Meanings in the Indian and British Newspapers in English: A Systemic Functional Analysis of Selected News-reports and Editorials” from Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar (Punjab). He has a teaching experience of 15 years.

    National Seminar Organized (UGC Sponsored):

    As a Seminar Convener/Organizing Secretary organized a Two-Day UGC sponsored National Seminar on English Language Teaching in India: Problems and Strategies on 25-26 Feb. 2011 at Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar, and published its proceedings both in print and online.

    Literary Activities:

    1. Worked as the Editor of the English Section of Lyallpur Khalsa College’s literary magazine ‘The Beas’ from 2011 to 2013
    2. As a Member of the College Literary Team trained the students who won the Debate and Elocution Competitions in the GNDU Zonal Youth Festivals, Inter-Zonal Youth Festivals and represented Guru Nanak Dev University in the National Youth Festival in 2014 and 2015.

     

    Research, Academic and Administrative Activities:

    1. Prepared the Electronic Study Learning Material (ESLM) for the students of M.A. English Semesters I and II of Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar.
