Bridge Course cum Orientation Program for M.A./M.Sc./M.Com Sem- I

The Bridge Course is introduced for the new entrants with an objective to provide adequate time needed for the transition from graduate level to post graduate level courses. Students, especially new entrants face many problems for example where and who to deal with post admission administration issues, co-curricular activities and to mix up with classmates coming from different fields and backgrounds. To save their time and any hindrance in their overall development this program is implemented. During this one week orientation program, the students will interact with the faculty and their classmates and consequently will be equipped with the knowledge of college administration and course and the confidence needed to take on bigger challenges as future teachers, academicians and scientists of this country. 

Objective:

1.To provide sufficient time to the students for the adjustment needed to settle in post graduate courses.

  1. To give a summary of the program outcomes, program specific outcomes and course outcomes.
  2. To give an opportunity to students to know about the teacher, course, syllabus and teaching methodology.
  3. An intermingling of students from different backgrounds.
  4. To bridge the gap between previous knowledge and the course opted.
  5. To make student realize his/her place locally and globally as a concerned citizen.
  6. To establish a deeper sense of bond by breaking the ice between teacher and student
  7. To provide new entrant an overall view of college administration and student welfare programs
  8. To make slow learners and introverts at par with fast learners at the beginning of the course

Outcomes:

  1. Exposure to college life in a structured and supportive learning community.
  2. Team building ability and leadership qualities
  3. Foster positive relationships with peers, faculty, and staff at Lyallpur Khalsa College.

Schedule: The departments have the authority to make their own schedule.

Students, especially new entrants coming from schools, face many problems, for example where and who to deal with post admission administration issues, co-curricular activities and to mix up with classmates coming from different fields and backgrounds. To save their time and any hindrance in their overall development this program is implemented. During this one week orientation program, the students will interact with the faculty and their classmates and consequently will be equipped with the knowledge of college administration and course and the confidence needed to take on bigger challenges as future teachers, academicians and scientists of this country.
