Senior State Football Championship began in Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar, organised by district Football Association Jalandhar the championship was inaugurated by Mr Pargat Singh the MLA Jalandhar Cantt and the former captain of Indian hockey team and S. Jaspal Singh Waraich , Joint Sectetary College Governing Council.
In the opening match of this Championship , the football team of Nawanshahar defeated DFA Ropar by 3-1.
The semi-final matches took place on the third day of the 75th Senior State Football Championship at Lyallpur Khalsa College
75th Senior State Football Championship is being organized by District Football Association at Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar. S. Dilbag Singh, former footballer was the chief guest during the first match of the third day of the championship. He was welcomed by Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh, Prof. Gopal Singh Buttar and S. Ajwant Singh Ball. The chief guest in his address said that only disciplined players can progress in sports. He encouraged the players to work hard in their field. He also appreciated the achievements of DFA in the field of sports. Today’s first semi-final match was played between Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar and Kapurthala in which Kapurthala’s team succeeded in scoring 4 goals against 1 and entered the final. Pankaj was declared the best player of this match. Today’s second match was played between the hosts Jalandhar and Patiala teams in which the Patiala team won 1-0. S. G.S. Bath, Deputy Circle Head PNB was the chief guest of this match. He was accompanied by Mrs. Prabhjot Kaur, Mr. Pawan Atri from PNB, Mr. Harjinder Singh, Secretary PFA, Mr. Harpreet Singh International Player and Mr. Harvinder Singh Mitha. Chandra Shekhar was declared the best player of this match. On this occasion, Sukhi Mann, Mr. Vijay Vaish, Mr. Balwinder Rana, Mr. Santokh Singh Norway, Mr. Dhanwant Kumar, Mr. Vijay Bali, Joint Secretary Punjab Football Association, Mr. Hardeep Singh former international football player, Sh Parveen Kumar former footballer, Mr. Ramesh Lal, Mr. Bhupinder Singh Bhindi, Mr. Jagdish Singh, Mr. Amrit Lal Saini and other football lovers were present.
