Department of Zoology and Botany of Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar has organized an educational exhibition focusing on the theme ‘Healthy Living through Balanced Nutrition’ to celebrate National Nutrition Month 2024. Dr. Jaspal Singh, Principal of the College, inaugurated the exhibition and appreciated the departmental efforts for organizing the event. He emphasized that such programs serve as a platform for promoting awareness among the society about the profound impact of nutrition on health. In his inaugural address, he inspired the students to be mindful of their choices and develop healthy dietary habits for a better future. Dr. Gagandeep Kaur, head of the department, extended a formal welcome to the principal and other guests. She informed that the exhibition aims to raise awareness about the importance of proper nutrition and role of healthier food options involving sustainable food resources in the overall well-being of the society. The exhibition features diverse food sources such as vegetables, fruits, millets, cereals, nuts, and medicinal plants that play a critical role in supporting human health. It also showcases interactive displays, informative posters, and live demonstrations, all designed to educate visitors on the nutritional value of different plant and animal food products. Visitors will have the opportunity to interact with faculty members, participate in nutrition-focused activities, and take home informative pamphlets and guidance on maintaining a healthy diet. The exhibition is open for the faculty, students and general public. Prof. Jasreen Kaur, Prof. Navdeep Kaur, Dr. Suman Chopra, Dr. Narveer Singh, Dr. Upma Arora, Dr. Heminder Singh and Prof. Surbjit Singh were present at the occasion.
